Zeutschel is once again making waves in the book scanner and book copying industry with the impressive new Zeta book copier.
The sleek and eye-catching design coupled with ease of use makes the Zeta one of the most exciting innovations in book copying of the last 10 years.
The scanner specialist wanted to tap into new target groups both in libraries as well as the office environment by using a combination of compact and stylish design, attractive prices, ease of use and high levels of functionality.
Dedicated book scanners have a clear edge over more traditional copiers. The book lies on its back and is scanned from above then for the next copy users simply turn the page. “Long term studies have determined that owing to the lower amount of stress inflicted during copying, durability of books in increased by 300% - not an inconsiderable economic factor.”
The copying trend in libraries is heading towards information being scanned in a decentralised manner and processed electronically, therefore Zeta’s “follow-me” solution allows users to perform digitalisation at a variety of locations within the library and send the images to a central server for use later. There the images are available for use (email and printing) later, it also allows users the option to stores images on a USB stick or directly to their own personal email.
The cutting edge multi-touch display not only has an innovative user interface but also has a preview function for quality control, which will prevent faulty scans. Intelligent control software corrects typical copy errors such as crooked pages and distorted letters in book folds of thicker books are automatically corrected.
All of these functions help to improve copy result but also save paper at the same time, Zeutschel Managing Director Jörg Vogler: “There is no longer any need for a wastepaper basket next to a zeta. Zeta is also proving to be environmentally friendly in terms of energy efficiency, conforming with current Energy Star guideline s for energy saving office equipment.”
