Kodak’s s1220 consists of the i1220 scanner and a photo management software. The scanner is used for scanning photo copies to the software, but it may also be used as a general document scanner. It is described on another page and will not be further presented here.

 The s1220 is an easy-to-use, compact and versatile desktop system designed for fast & efficient photo copy scanning. Photo copies are scanned, manipulated and stored or printed out on the media of your choice. An optional flatbed can be attached to the scanner for scanning of objects too thick for the document feeder.
 
Photos can be scanned in 300, 600 or 1200 dpi resolution. The images are viewed in groups of 16 and the user can rotate images, remove red eyes, correct colors and brightness. A single image view provides greater magnification and comparison of results of image enhancement. The adjusted images are stored in JPG files that may be stored on optical media and/or printed out for new copies. In case the photos contain information on the back both front and back may be scanned to capture it.
 

The s1220 is mainly intended for retailer shops, such as shops specializing on photos and photo development, and general stores providing photo development and copying services directly to end users. These shops usually already have a PC based system in place for making paper copies out of digital images and could with s1220 provide the opposite, CDs or DVDs from paper copies.
