Also referred to as "pick rollers," skimmer rollers "skim" the top document of the stack in order to feed and scan it on all Spectrum XF,  Rated life: 600,000 pages. Life expectancy of the separator roller can be affected by paper type and maintenance of the roller.

Skimmer rollers are user-replaceable except for 8000 Plus users that do not yet have a molded skimmer assembly. A new molded skimmer assembly is included in every 8000 Plus All-In-One Kit, along with two additional skimmer rollers. A total of four individual skimmer rollers are included in every Spectrum XF All-in-One Kit and Spectrum All-In-One Kit. Skimmer rollers can also be purchased separately.
